Planet Zoo maker Frontier Developments’ adjusted operating profit jumps 62 percent

Frontier Developments’ Explosive Growth: £21.4 Million Adjusted Operating Profit Breaks Records

In a stellar financial report, Frontier Developments has announced a 62% surge in adjusted operating profit, reaching an all-time high of £21.4 million (approximately $25 million) in FY2026. This remarkable growth is just one of several company records set by the studio behind the beloved Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster series.

As revenue soared 16% to £104.8 million, driven largely by the success of Jurassic World Evolution 3 and the continued popularity of its flagship franchises, Frontier’s financial prowess has been solidified. The studio attributes this growth to “strong trading, disciplined cost control, and higher tax and expenditure credits,” a testament to its strategic business acumen.

Frontier’s leadership team has also undergone significant changes in recent years, with Jo Cooke taking the helm as CEO after Jonny Watts’ departure last year. This transition has been accompanied by a series of promotions and appointments, including Dan Lazarides joining as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and David Braben set to assume a non-executive role next month.

As Frontier celebrates its financial milestones, it’s clear that the studio’s commitment to innovation and community engagement has paid off. With a strong balance sheet, a talented team, and an exciting roadmap ahead, Frontier is poised to continue delivering sustainable growth, enduring player value, and long-term returns for its stakeholders.

The studio’s future plans are indeed bright, with Planet Zoo 2 set to release in October and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch scheduled for FY27. Moreover, an agreement with Disney to develop a new game using the company’s iconic IP has been signed, further solidifying Frontier’s position as a leading player in the gaming industry.

“We delivered record financial performance, demonstrated the strength of our content management system strategy, and continued to invest in the world-class franchises our players love,” Cooke proudly declared. “With a strong balance sheet, a talented team, and an exciting roadmap ahead, we are well positioned to deliver sustainable growth, enduring player value, and long-term returns for our stakeholders.”

As VR enthusiasts eagerly await new experiences from Frontier Developments, this announcement serves as a testament to the studio’s commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences that captivate audiences worldwide. With its impressive financial performance and ambitious future plans, Frontier is set to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive entertainment.
