It’s been a busy week for VR and our latest news roundup is live, featuring several more stories you may have missed.
Connect dominated this week’s news. Meta has announced that the launch of Meta Quest 3S on October 15 will start at $300 and include a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow for free. Quest 3S, which is exactly what we expected, was also included in this announcement. Meta’s prototype ‘Orion AR glasses’ have 70-degree field of view and use wireless computing, while the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses model will include live translations. Alongside Quest 2 and Quest Pro, the Quest 3 128GB model has also been discontinued.

Elsewhere, Samsung reportedly delayed its Android XR headset even further. Immersed demonstrated the Visor passthrough and hand tracking and we got a chance to try it out a second. Bigscreen Beyond’s headsets can be ordered via the shipping within one week. Now, the Godot engine is compatible with Quest. The Logitech MX Ink Tracked Stylus will be available on 22 October. Inter Solar 83, a PC VR Space Exploration Game, has added onboard system scanning in the new Alpha update.
