Dead Second, Spunge Games’ action cover shooter, is coming to the official Meta Quest store just days from now.
Previously launched on App Lab in late 2021, Dead Second is a high-action arcade shooter inspired by the arcade classics of the 1990s, most notably Namco’s Time Crisis. Dead Second has players taking on the role of an assassin hired to eliminate corruption in a dystopian metropolis. Here’s the trailer for Dead Second, which will launch on June 27th, 2024. A new update, released in conjunction with the release of the game’s main store, will include new levels, enemy attack drones and more abilities. It will also feature a brand new soundtrack. Quest 3 enhancements include real-time shadows and specifically optimized bloom post-effects.
Spunge Games also published a new Dead Second roadmap. In “3-6 months,” the studio says it will add new weapons and fire modes, as well as improved AI for NPCs, in its first major update. In a future update, which is currently “9-12” months away, there will be new areas with 4 to 6 new levels. There will also be new enemy types, behaviors and environments, as well as basic hand-to-1 combat.
