Hardware news was dominated by AWE 2024 this week. We tested Sony’s standalone enterprise headset in-depth, Ultraleap demonstrated Meta’s Ray-Ban Glasses with an all-day hand tracking sensor to us, and WowMouse is a WearOS application that tries to convert any Android watch into mouse. That’s before getting into announcements for the Xreal Beam Pro, Varjo Teleport and Palmer Luckey’s currently unnamed military-focused headset.
Elsewhere, Meta began selling refurbished Quest 3 headsets. The Somnium VR1 will be available next month. A South Korean regulator registered the Pico 4S. And now, Apple Vision Pro has officially released the ALVR app. According to reports, Quest Pro 2 began development in November. Apple reportedly suspended its Vision Pro successor was prioritized as a more affordable model. Further news emerged with Gracia, Logitech MX Ink, Unity 6 and Quest 3 augments.
