Hellsweeper VR overhauls the traits system in the free Ascension update.
Available now on most supported platforms, the latest Hellsweeper VR update streamlines the traits system. Developer Mixed Realms states this “reduces the need to memorize more complex recipes for forging stronger traits,” changes the number of UI panels during forging, and moves some traits into a new category, letting you equip them at the start of a run.
Elsewhere, new dual-wielding bonuses have been introduced for the sword and axe. Wrath has Frost and Volt variants. Quest now supports bHaptics with an “improved integration” on Steam. Mixed Realms says that this update resets all existing roguelikes due to the new traits. A new roadmap is also expected “soon”. It’s Hellsweeper VR’s latest major update since the launch last year. The ‘
update’ from December introduced a boss and additional weapons, as well as an expanded co-op mode. The March ‘Treachery update’ added eye tracking with dynamic rendering and adaptive triggers for ranged weapons. Mixed Realms has confirmed that an update for the Wrath will be “coming soon.”
