For example, an artist working in Blender can be sent a “deep link” that carries the full project context needed to make a requested fix. The change can then be checked in to source control, and an engineer can quickly validate the asset and push an updated build using the new CLI.

While some developers may have been concerned about the level of generative AI being pushed into game development, Unity is taking a more measured approach. According to Smith, Unity will “work hand-in-hand with AI tools developers already use” and make use of “AI-assisted graphics optimization.” However, the company is also committed to giving developers the choice on how much AI they want to integrate into their projects.
