Meta announces a first-party VR ‘Deadpool’ game, voiced by Neil Patrick Harris. Neil Patrick Harris will voice the lead character in the game, which is set to be released later this summer. Twisted Pixel will release the first game since 2022, when Meta acquired the studio. It is Marvel’s Deadpool VR. The game will be released “later this summer” exclusively on Quest 3 and 3S.

. Here’s what the studio has to say about the game: “ Marvel’s Deadpool VR is a completely original story.” Deadpool is pulled through the portal to Mojoworld and sees that he can get really rich. He signs an ambiguous contract, without reading the fine prints. Then he goes on to battle against some of Marvel’s most iconic villains. This is real metaverse–not in the VR sense but rather the Marvel Universe one. Twisted Pixel has spent years recreating Deadpool’s unique combination of parkour combat and parkour. This builds on the beat ’em’ up credentials it established with Path of the Warrior. If you can think it, then you probably can do it. You can stab your enemies or shoot them, but what’s the point? What if you punch someone while they’re holding a grenade in their hand? Check. What if you threw your recently-exploded arm at the baddies? Gross, but check. Hold the enemy’s face against a rotating propeller? It’s bloody and efficient. Soldiers, demon dogs, creepy humanoid creatures, and creepy worms are all ready to be dismembered. Deadpool VR
