Meta is enlisting A-list celebrities, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth, to advertise the Ray-Ban smart glasses at the Super Bowl.
The company says the two ad spots, one for each of the actors, were directed by Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kingsman franchise.

The last time Meta (then Facebook) used A-list celebrity advertising for a headset or glasses was for Oculus Go back in 2018. Back then, it used Wiz Khalifa to show streaming concerts in 360deg video, Jonah Hill & Adam Levine to show cowatching an NBA game in 180deg video, and Leslie Jones & Awkwafina to show watching movies on a giant screen.

Facebook has enlisted five top celebrities to feature in new video adverts to promote the Oculus Go standalone headset, which starts at $199 and doesn’t require a PC. The theme of the campaign is ‘See It In VR’, and represents Facebook’s first major traditional advertising campaign for VR.

Oakley Meta glasses are coming later this year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.

and EssilorLuxottica reportedly will launch Oakley Meta sunglasses later this year. Meta also plans to release higher-end smart eyewear with HUD. However, it is unclear if these glasses will be EssilorLuxottica brands like Ray-Ban.
