You’d be right to think that a game where you slash and shoot crystallized foes sounds remarkably similar to Superhot VR’s premise. You’d have every right to think that a game in which time is slowed down while you shoot and slash crystallized enemies sounds similar to Superhot’s VR premise. This is different from Superhot VR’s mechanic that slows time when you stand still.
slows down the speed of time when you are moving. A seemingly simple switch can completely change the game’s premise. It’s best to think of
as a puzzle with action, while COLD VR has some interesting puzzling elements. COLD VR requires you to react quickly and not take your time to analyze the situation. COLD VR can be a brilliantly fun time. For that reason, COLD VR can be a brilliantly fun time.COLD VR is the reverseShattering blue crystallized enemies is as satisfying as it gets, whether you’re throwing a katana or shooting them in the face with a double-barreled shotgun at lightning speed. As you complete difficult levels, techno music is played in the background. However, while Superhot reveled in simplicity, COLD VR’s approach is overwhelming – a sensory overload, with little reason or message behind it apart from Superhot VRooh flashy lights

I’m having plenty of fun with this preview build, though I was met with various bugs. Funny levers that reset dialogue every single time I pulled them. Some problems were not as humorous. Bullets randomly struck me when I was aiming, for example. It’s unfortunate that it also brings another issue to the forefront – frustratingly difficult moments. Some missions just throw you into the fire line, and others require a lot of luck. Two enemies with assault rifles fire a torrent of bullets at you without any cover while you weave and dodge to get to your shotgun. You can understand my frustration when you consider the issue of “randomly landing bullets”. It’s certainly not Oscar-worthy, but I am intrigued as you are sent to fight an AI who wants to conquer the world. The simple storyline gives the enemies a good reason to exist, and you a goal for fighting them. The backrooms was a terrifying experience, even though I am a horror enthusiast. Although I can understand that you are able to enter or skip each level in COLD VR, I would have preferred if this option was available on the main menu. The surprise factor made the experience even scarier. Overall, my experience with COLD VR was a bit disappointing. The combat is a unique twist to what Superhot began, but frustrating levels and bugs ruin a good premise. After months of waiting, I am still looking forward to what COLD will bring, but my expectations have been dampened – let’s call them cold.
