No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 Brings a Universal Refreshment to PSVR 2 and PC VR

, introduces more planetary diversity by adding technology, new flora and fauna. This includes dynamic reflections and water waves, as well as more detailed skylines and wind patterns. This also adds new “volumetrics and atmospherics” for a planet’s surface, like rolling fog, rain, blizzards, and lava sparks, while new biomes with new creatures are also available.No Man’s SkySean Murray, Managing Director at Hello Games, confirmed that the studio’s learning new things from its upcoming game, Light No Fire, and feeding that back into No Man’s Sky. He also touched upon the Worlds Part 1 update further in a prepared statement.

“No Man’s Sky is a game about exploring, so how planets look and feel is important, but what you do on those planets is something we want to add to with every update. The game’s expeditions are a big part of the way people play. This one is a Starship Troopers-inspired game, which takes you to some cool planets. The community is driving the progress and everyone is working together to fight bugs. The new mech has a heavy armor and cool flamethrower. “

Worlds Part 1 marks the third notable update we've seen this year for No Man's Sky. The

was released in February with an entirely new system for expeditions. The OMEGA Expedition update, released in March with new space stations and ship customizations, was followed by the May’s version of Orbital. The most recent update was the Adrift in May, where you could explore an alternative universe without any other lifeforms.
