Tier One: Direct Action is a spiritual successor to VR tactical shooter Onward, and it’s coming to Quest in early access this year.
Developed by Niorun Studios, Tier One: Direct Action is a tactical FPS inspired by ArmA and Rainbow Six Siege. The game focuses on teamwork, and tries to mimic real-life gear handling. The game offers a customizable arsenal of weapons, attachments, tools, character customization, destructible environments, and more.
A Kickstarter campaign will also launch next month, promising “exclusive rewards” that include early access to the game, unique in-game items, and more. While the full version will feature 10 game modes, including PvP, PvE and Team Deathmatch modes, Tier One Direct Action offers three in the early access phase – Capture the Flag and Satcom. We haven’t seen any gameplay footage, so it’s hard to compare. Niorun Studios says eight
former developers are working on the game. Niorun Studios has been contacted for more information to confirm the roles of each developer on Downpour Interactive’s shooter. Tier One: Direct Action is currently slated for an early access release in Q3 2024 on Quest App Lab.
