App Lab Games are now available for public viewing on the Main Quest Store


Meta has begun opening up Quest App Lab, making previously unlisted games and apps viewable on the main store.

Introduced in 2021 as a secondary distribution method for on-platform app sales, Quest App Lab is being retired soon to make the Quest Store more open. Meta’s App Lab tab will be introduced in two steps. The first is today. The new feature allows Quest users to search for App Lab applications without having to enter the exact URL. Previously, this was only possible by using the exact search terms or the URL. The second phase is to be announced at a later date. This will eliminate App Lab, and it will be merged into Quest Store’s main store with more flexible approval criteria. The submitted app will not be rejected based on subjective criteria or poor quality. However, it must still comply with “basic content and technical requirements”.
