Skera VR is a Steampunk puzzle game coming to Steam

Skera VR is a new puzzle-adventure game coming to Steam.

Developed by a three-person studio named after the game, Skera VR is described as a “single-player puzzle-solving action adventure” game. You are imprisoned in a gateway tower with only a sword and must escape by working both together and against its resident AI. Recent gameplay footage isn’t available but you can watch the previous trailer below.

Team Skera explains that Skera VR began as a third-year project when the developers studied at UCA Farnham before they began working remotely. The studio was inspired visually by Halo Arcane and Breath of the Wild’s Shrines. They also felt that the combination of Sci-fi Steampunk, magic, and Forerunners is an appealing and underrepresented concept on the VR market. “

For more details, here’s an official story description.

The resident AI of the Tower, though your omnipotent jailer, is also your benevolent guide and your only chance to escape your imprisonment. You may have a different goal, but you both share the same one. The mysterious AI, like you, is also plagued with questions, and wants to find out the fate of its Gate Builders. It would give you, your family and people the chance to leave the dying planet. We enjoyed our hands-on experience at

playing a VR PC demo over a wired connection on WASD 2024. The art style was appealing and it took me a while to find six colored orbs that I had to collect by solving puzzles. For a tutorial, the puzzles weren’t difficult at all. They ranged from placing orbs in tubes to putting weighted items into their correct places. The reset buttons were handy to have nearby whenever I made mistakes. They returned the objects where they began. Some things, however, could have been made more clear. It wasn’t until I heard from the dev that I realized I could grab or holster objects using the Teleportation button, although I prefer the magnetic grab. Skera VR also has a great swordplay. Skera VR has a nice weapon design, and seeing objects crumble after being sliced is a pleasant experience.
